Byzantine Silver Fill Chainmaille Bracelet

Starting at: $69.00

Chainmaille starts it's life in wire form. I take the swire and coil it around the proper sized mandrel, and then precision saw cut the coil into rings. They are then tumbled with stainless steel shot to harden and polish.

After the rings are ready, I take pliers in each hand, and open and close around each other in the beautiful chainmaille weave known as byzantine, or birdcage. After the piece is completed, I give it a final tumble to bring it to a gleaming shine.

This piece comes in 3 different weights: petite (18 gauge), medium (16 gauge), and bold (14 gauge). See the comparison photo to see the three different sizes.

petite 18 gauge: 5.5 mm thick
medium 16 gauge: 7 mm thick
bold 14 gauge: 9 mm thick

ABOUT silver fill: Silver fill wire made by bonding a layer of sterling silver (.925) to a brass core. The thickness of this sterling silver layer constitutes 1/10 of the overall weight. This layer is much thicker than a silver plating - making this product last decades, rather than months. This is a fabulous alternative to those who love sterling silver but are cringing at the high price.

All jewelry is shipped beautifully packaged and ready to give.
